Where did the idea for Berd Vaye come from?
Kurayev: It started as a hobby. [Co-founder] Albert Akbashev and I wanted o do something special to the wall space in our office, and we both collect watches and do a little art. I was intrigued by watchmaking, and wanted to show the way the mechanisms work. Once I started making the plaques and frames and putting them on the wall, people started asking if I could do the same for them.
